New Concept In Children’s Play

Our Ethos

Here at the Green Play House, we have put our combined 30+ years’ experience in the childcare industry to use to build a new style of Soft Play. Giving your child as many varied experiences, opportunities and as much stimulation as possible, getting them ready for a bright future.

BUT……we want the world to be a bright place too.

Our building is an old Textile Mill, which we renovated after it lay derelict for 10 years. We were keen that it wasn’t demolished, but repurposed for this modern-day use.

Our heating and power come from renewable energy; Biomass heating, using U.K sourced wood pellets. Electricity powered by solar energy. Our building does not have a gas connection – so there’s not a fossil fuel in sight!

We compost as much of our waste as possible, and recycle what we can’t, meaning that our rubbish is at an absolute minimum.

We make our food from scratch, minimising the waste; less packaging, and using seasonal fruits and vegetables etc so there is no need to import any ingredients, and we stay U.K based

Locally sourced food, using local suppliers, cutting down freight/fuel

All our resources, equipment and furniture used in The Green Play House, from the toilet cubicles to the cutlery, to the carpet and the soft play itself are reclaimed, saving many items from landfill.

We want our children (your children) growing up knowing right from the start how to recycle, and how to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

We want this to come as naturally to them, as being wasteful has to us.

Finally, another thing which is very important to us…. Is YOU. We don’t want to forget the grown ups in our mission for a better world.

We want the Green Play House to be a hub of the community. Somewhere different to the average Soft Play Centre. This is a place where you can have a great time too.

We have a community room available to hire for local groups to meet, and along with our friendly staff and atmosphere, we hope you’ll feel welcome here.

We have super fast broadband available, television screens including sky sports channels. Delicious snacks and food which will change regularly through the seasons, and dietary requirements met to the best of our abilities.

We are accessible to all, and provide regular S.E.N.D sessions for children who would prefer to access the Green Play House under calmer conditions.
