The Green Playhouse

Terms & Conditions

Clear, practical terms for bookings, visits, parties, soft play, café use and our facilities.

Last updated: April 2026

Welcome to The Green Playhouse. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for visiting, booking sessions, attending parties and using our soft play centre, café and facilities.

1. About us

The Green Playhouse is a children’s soft play centre based at Unit 2, Victory Business Park, West Close Road, Barnoldswick, BB18 5DH.

You can contact us by phone on 01282 22 24 26 or by email at hello@thegreenplayhouse.co.uk.

2. Bookings

We recommend booking online in advance, especially during weekends, school holidays, special events and busy sessions.

Bookings are made through our secure booking provider, Beyonk. Please make sure the correct session, date, time and number of children are selected before confirming your booking.

Entry is only valid for the session booked. Session times may vary during school holidays, events or private hire.

We reserve the right to refuse entry where a booking is incorrect, incomplete, duplicated, unpaid or where the session is full.

3. Entry prices

Our standard entry prices are £3.50 for birth to 12 months and £7.50 for children aged 1 to 11 years.

Prices may vary for special events, SEN sessions, party bookings, toddler dance, private hire or promotional sessions.

Adults attending with children are responsible for supervising them at all times.

4. Supervision of children

Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times.

The Green Playhouse staff are present to manage the venue, operate the café, support sessions and help maintain a safe environment. Staff do not provide individual childcare or one-to-one supervision.

Parents and guardians must supervise their children throughout the visit, ensure children use the play equipment safely and appropriately, make sure children follow staff instructions, remain on site while children are in the centre, and prevent rough, unsafe or disruptive behaviour.

Children must not be left unattended.

5. Use of the soft play equipment

Soft play is designed for active play. While we take reasonable steps to keep the centre safe, bumps, slips, trips and minor accidents can happen during normal play.

Children must use the play frame and equipment sensibly.

The following are not allowed: climbing on the outside of the play frame, pushing, fighting or rough play, throwing balls or equipment at others, climbing up slides, blocking slides or exits, taking food, drinks, chewing gum or sweets onto the play equipment, using equipment outside the intended age or size range, or damaging equipment or fixtures.

Staff may ask a child to stop playing, take a break, or leave the play area if behaviour is unsafe or disruptive.

6. Age and play areas

Children should use the areas suitable for their age, size and ability.

The baby and sensory area is intended for babies and younger children. Older children must not use this area in a way that could upset or endanger smaller children.

Parents and guardians should use their judgement and follow any signs or staff instructions about which areas are suitable.

7. Socks and clothing

Socks must be worn in the play areas. Bare feet and outdoor shoes are not permitted on the play equipment.

Children should wear suitable clothing for active play. Items such as jewellery, sharp accessories, loose drawstrings or anything that could catch on equipment should be removed where possible.

8. Food and drink

Food and drink must not be taken onto the play frame or soft play equipment.

Food and drink purchased from The Green Playhouse should be consumed in the café and seating areas only.

We do not usually allow outside food or drink, except for baby food, medical or dietary requirements agreed with staff, birthday cakes for party bookings, or other items agreed in advance.

Please speak to us before bringing external food into the venue.

9. Allergies and dietary requirements

We aim to support a wide range of dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian, vegan and halal options.

Please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking or before ordering food. For parties, please tell us as early as possible so we can plan safely.

Although we take care when preparing and serving food, our kitchen handles multiple ingredients and allergens. We cannot guarantee that food or drink will be completely free from traces of allergens.

Customers with severe allergies should speak to a member of staff before ordering.

10. Illness and hygiene

Please do not attend The Green Playhouse if you, your child or anyone in your group is unwell, contagious or showing symptoms of illness.

This includes, but is not limited to, sickness or diarrhoea, fever, contagious rashes, heavy coughs or colds, chickenpox, hand, foot and mouth, or any illness that could spread to other families.

Children who become unwell during a session may be asked to leave for the comfort and safety of others.

Nappies must be changed in the designated changing facilities and disposed of properly.

11. Behaviour

We want The Green Playhouse to be welcoming, friendly and safe for everyone.

We will not tolerate abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour, swearing at staff or other visitors, unsafe or disruptive behaviour, damage to property, bullying or harassment, or refusal to follow staff instructions.

We reserve the right to ask any person or group to leave without refund if their behaviour affects the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others.

12. Parties

Party bookings are based on a minimum of 12 children.

Our party packages include soft play and either hot or cold food options. Additional children are charged at the relevant per-child rate.

A 50% deposit based on the minimum party size is required to secure your booking: £72 for cold platter parties or £84 for hot food parties.

Final balance is based on your confirmed party numbers.

We can cater for larger parties up to around 30 children, subject to availability and agreement in advance.

Siblings of invited party guests who are attending and using the soft play facilities are charged at standard entry prices: £3.50 for birth to 12 months and £7.50 for children aged 1 to 11 years.

13. Party food, cakes and invites

Party food options must be confirmed in advance.

We can cater for allergies, vegetarian, vegan and halal requirements where we are told in good time.

You may bring your own birthday cake. We also offer a cake wrapping service — please bring napkins with you. This helps keep things simple, tidy and stress-free for parents.

Party invites can be provided upon request.

We may also be able to recommend a local cake supplier if you need one.

14. Party decorations and setup

Unless agreed in advance, The Green Playhouse does not provide themed decorations, balloons, table themes or personalised party styling.

Customers may be able to bring small decorations, but these must be agreed with us first and must not damage walls, furniture, fixtures or equipment.

Confetti, silly string, glitter, party poppers and similar items are not permitted unless agreed in writing.

15. Cancellations, changes and refunds

If you need to change or cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

Session bookings and party bookings are subject to availability, and we may not always be able to move bookings at short notice.

Party deposits are paid to secure a date and time and may be non-refundable if cancelled close to the party date.

Where The Green Playhouse needs to cancel a session or party due to circumstances outside our control, we will offer to rearrange the booking or provide an appropriate refund.

Circumstances outside our control may include severe weather, power failure, emergency closure, illness, safety concerns, maintenance issues or other unexpected events.

16. SEN sessions

Our SEN sessions are designed to offer a calmer and quieter play environment.

Parents, guardians and responsible adults remain responsible for supervising their children at all times during SEN sessions.

While we aim to create a supportive environment, The Green Playhouse is not a specialist care provider and does not provide one-to-one support.

Please speak to us if your child has specific access, sensory or support needs and we will do our best to help.

17. Photography and video

Families are welcome to take photos or videos of their own children for personal use.

Please be respectful of other visitors and avoid taking photos or videos where other children or families are the main focus without their permission.

Photography or filming for commercial use, promotional use, social media campaigns or professional purposes must be agreed with The Green Playhouse in advance.

We may occasionally take photos for our own marketing or social media. We will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable images of children.

18. Personal belongings

Visitors are responsible for their own belongings.

The Green Playhouse is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items unless caused by our negligence.

Please keep valuables with you at all times.

19. Accidents and incidents

If an accident, injury or incident occurs, please tell a member of staff immediately.

We may record details in our accident or incident records. This helps us manage safety, respond appropriately and review any issues.

First aid support may be available from trained staff, but responsibility for medical decisions remains with the parent, guardian or responsible adult.

In an emergency, we may contact emergency services.

20. Safety checks and closures

We carry out safety checks and maintenance to help keep the centre safe and enjoyable.

We may temporarily close part or all of the play frame, café, seating area or venue if we believe it is necessary for safety, cleaning, maintenance or operational reasons.

Where possible, we will try to minimise disruption.

21. Damage to property

Visitors may be charged for deliberate or careless damage caused to The Green Playhouse property, equipment, furniture, fixtures or fittings.

Please report any damage or concerns to staff immediately.

22. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to the above, The Green Playhouse is not responsible for loss, injury or damage caused by misuse of the play equipment, failure to follow rules, signs or staff instructions, lack of adult supervision, unsafe behaviour by children or other visitors, personal belongings being lost or damaged, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will be available on our website. By continuing to visit or book with us, you agree to the latest version.
